Promoting Excellence In Psychological Health & Wellbeing

Introduction from Laura Lea

02 Mar 20

Expert by Experience Involvement Lead with the National Psychological Professions Team

My name is Laura Lea.  I have just begun my new role as Lead for Involvement for the Psychological Professions Workforce Group and for developing involvement in the PPN across the country. I'm a mental health service user with many years of mental health service use. I live with the challenges of a long term mental health problem. My experiences have led me to believe that involving service users, families and carers in mental health service delivery and training brings important insights. Through this change can happen, and there are better outcomes for everyone.

I am appointed until March 2021 and work in a small team based in Hove. I will be setting up the infrastructure so that people with lived experience can be involved.  I will also be consulting, scoping and reporting back on the involvement of service users, families and carers in the training and education of the twelve psychological professions. This is with a view to increasing involvement in training and developing standards for best practice.

If you have queries or comments about involvement please get in touch at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.  I look forward to working with you and reporting on new developments.
